Thanks especially to those who helped with stalls, setting up and packing away. Also, thank you to all the local businesses and families who donated items. The great news is that we raised £1148 for the benefit of the children. The friends have also managed to secure additional funding of £1400 for ‘Space 2 Grow’ from Environment Wales. This is part of our 3 year project to improve the school grounds.
Finally, the Green Man festivalhas offered the Friends a stall at this year’s festival. The stall will offer an interactive animation experience for families. We will need volunteers to man this stall - tickets are limited. If you are interested contact Gareth Axford or Heidi Purnell before the end of term.

Friends of the School…Thank you to the many parents who responded to the call for support in establishing a new Friends committee; we had a very positive meeting earlier this week. We have now filled the main committee positions and look forward to holding our first meeting on Tuesday at 7pm(immediately after parents evening). This meeting will focus on planning the events for this term; consequently, we need a good turn out and parents should attend even if they are only able to commit themselves to assist in a minor way.
Harvest Festival…will be held at St Edmunds on Thursday at 10am. You can help by:
- Sending in fruit and vegetable to make up hampers to be donated to the Community if you have children in the Nursery and Reception classes.
- Sending in a donation to charity (Years 1 to 6). The School Council will be choosing a charity at the beginning of next week.
- Volunteering to help walk the children to the church, both for the rehearsal (Wednesday at 1.30pm) and the festival itself on Thursday. We particularly need assistance with the Nursery and Reception children. Please let your child’s class teacher know if you can help.
